Malo Lelei,
On Friday 5th April we celebrated Gumboot Friday, Gumboot Friday is a day when all
New Zealanders wear gumboots to support Mental Health. Mental Health means to take
care of yourself especially if you just lost somebody special to you or you are very ill then it
would be very unhealthy for you if you just continue to be depressed and especially if you take
it out on other people. Waikowhai Primary supported Mental Health by writing uplifting,

kind and thoughtful quotes onto a piece of paper. Our Teachers and some Students also

two pieces of papers full of positive notes.
This also relates with our School theme which is Hauora, which means Well being.
On Tuesday the 9th of April we collected our cards and we got into 8 groups one adult and
8-10 children. Then we travelled out two different streets and then placed the pieces of papers
into the letter boxes that way when the owners of the letter box,
reads it they will feel very joyful and hopefully feel very good about themselves.
if you receive one of these notes then when you're finished with it please don't throw it away.
Share our love and post it into someone else's letterbox because you know how it feels to
receive a letter like that so if you spread that around to other people it will bring joyfulness
to the world. Here is the card that I wrote along with other different photos:
