Waikowhai Assembly for Christchurch

We are here for you Christchurch!

Most of you heard about what happened in
Christchurch, it is very sad news.
Everybody across the world is trying their best to help. At Waikowhai Primary School we are looking at ways we can help. On Monday 18th March we had a Special Assembly in our School Hall, talking about what happened down in Christchurch.
We have recently been visiting the Give a Little Page,
It’s basically a site where people give donations to a company to help events that have been happening across the world. This page has raised $8,851,539.40 just for Christchurch. Here is the link for the website:
They also fund raise for other effects that have happened.
Our entire school practised a pretend lock down, if you don't know what a lock
down is, for our school we know when it is a time for lock down because our school bell rings twice, the whole class including the teacher get low in a hidden area, hiding from gunman or a person threatening the school.
It is also good to lock windows and doors and if you can shut all blinds/covers.
Just like what Christchurch schools had to do for 4 hours.
Hopefully your school can do the same because when one person is hurt,
everyone is hurt because we are one, if we fight as one, we win as one.

Kia Ora students, teachers, parents and caregivers.

Today, I hope you will learn some facts about me.
I am going to share my Getting To Know You form with you.
Basically, it is just a form that has information about myself.
Everyone in my school including the teachers fill out this form at
the start of the Year.
Here is a Picture of my form:
On this form, it is talking about my Family Background,
Things I Like, My Friends, Things I am good at,
What do I want people to know about me, What is important to me
and my family and Things I do not like.
